Interest Management Algorithms

Interest Management Algorithms

Many virtual environments rely on the client-server architecture, where each message is typically broadcast to all the clients. In order to avoid unnecessary messaging, interest management (IM) algorithms have been developed. The aim of IM algorithms is to ensure that the messages are disseminated to only those clients that are interested in them, which results in significant bandwidth savings. As a result of this work, a new IM algorithm called EA3 was developed, evaluated and finally integrated as part of realXtend Tundra.
